Ultrasound has for many years played an increasingly important role in the clinical practice of specialists across numerous fields of medicine. Sports traumatology is no exception: ultrasound is often an indispensable tool for the accurate definition of diagnosis and treatment. The course program covers examination technique and normal ultrasound anatomy through live sessions and hands-on practice in groups of no more than five participants each, followed by a review of the most common pathological presentations in the lower limb of the athlete from both clinical and ultrasound perspectives. Particular emphasis will be placed on the combination of physical examination and ultrasound assessment, which represents one of the essential training elements for the professional sports traumatologist.
